At AFC Urgent Care Pembroke Pines, our center behaves as an alternative to the emergency room, since we treat and diagnose sudden injuries/illnesses on a walk-in basis. However, we offer a number of advantages that no emergency room could ever offer. For instance, at an ER, insurance copays, and deductibles are considerably higher than at our urgent care center. Expect to wait much longer at an ER, especially if your injury is not life threatening.

AFC Urgent Care Pembroke Pines provides treatment for illnesses and injuries that are not necessarily life-threatening, yet require immediate attention. This includes:

  • Minor cuts or wounds that require stitches,
  • Minor broken bones,
  • Upper respiratory infections,
  • Mild asthma attacks
  • Urinary Tract infections

However, you should go to an Emergency Room (ER) if you’re suffering from a life-threatening injury or illness. These conditions include:

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Major trauma
  • Major burns
  • Severe¬†bleeding
  • Stroke symptoms, such as:
    • Difficulty breathing
    • Sudden weakness

AFC Urgent Care Pembroke Pines is open 7 days per week with extensive hours of operation. Our center does not require an appointment, plus, we predominantly have shorter waiting times than an ER. Urgent Care centers also save you money because of lower copays and deductibles.

As a walk-in-clinic, no appointment is ever necessary. You will receive immediate medical care from a board-certified medical doctor – not a mid-level practitioner or nurse practitioner. Also, beware of excessive hospital-like fees charged by urgent care centers that are hospital owned or affiliated.
